DR.JAKE TREMBLAY, R.PSYCH., CCTP
Jake is a Registered Psychologist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who provides counselling, assessment, and consultation services for individuals, groups, and organizations. He is also an Associate Academic Colleague of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta. With a special focus on trauma, and workplace issues, his counselling practice supports most general mental health concerns, while his assessment practice specializes in serving first responder and law enforcement populations, & workplace health & safety issues. He has years of experience working within interdisciplinary clinical teams, and is a qualified Substance Abuse Professional (S.A.P.) through the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Board. He is trained in EMDR, Proloned Exposure, and is a registered provider for Cognitive Processing Therapy, and is trained in Exposure with Response Prevention.
Working in two locations, he provides psychological services at the University of Alberta campus, and in West Edmonton. Jake is passionate about advancing all Albertans' access to psychologists, and served four years on the Board of the Psychologists' Association of Alberta as Vice President and a Board Director.
His Doctoral degree in Counselling Psychology was achieved through the Canadian Psychological Association-accredited program at the University of Alberta; his Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology was also at the UofA. He earned his Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Psychology at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton. Jake currently resides in central Alberta.
In Alberta, psychologists are regulated by the College of Alberta Psychologists. Dr. Tremblay became a registered psychologist in 2008, and he has been providing counselling, skill training, and human resource advising for 20 yrs. He utilizes only evidence-based, best-practice interventions to assist his clients to achieve their goals.
